Friend Joins Professional Football Team
A friend of grafik dezine, Lauren Kemp, has joined the
Cleveland Fusion Women’s Professional Football team
as a Wide Receiver. This is Lauren’s first time
playing “real” football and sees it as a new
challenge for herself. “Growing up I always had
an interest in the game, but there was never a chance
for women to play. Now that there is an opportunity, I’m
taking advantage of it. This sport isn’t just for
men!”
The Cleveland Fusion plays in the Northern
Conference of the National Women’s Football Association.
The NWFA was formed in 2000 to give women a chance to
play full-contact football in a well organized and professionally
run league. The league that started with two teams,
now has hundreds nation-wide and continues to grow each
year.
